Annual Impact Snapshot
Since 2007, Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge has been a steady source of dignity and compassionate connection for individuals experiencing homelessness across southeastern Wisconsin. What began with Bob Burmeister Sr. offering clothing and kindness under a bridge has grown into a volunteer-powered organization that now serves thousands of people each year. Through weekly outreach, hot meals, clothing, and essential supplies, Mr. Bob’s continues to meet people exactly where they are—with respect, consistency, and care.
Today, our services extend across Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington counties, providing mobile showers, hygiene kits, stability support, and emergency assistance for individuals moving into housing or treatment programs. With more than 400 volunteers contributing annually, Mr. Bob’s has become a trusted presence in the community, helping bridge the gap between hardship and hope through simple, human connection.

Our Story
Mr. Bob's Under the Bridge began in September 2007 with just six backpacks and open hearts. Founded by Bob and Sue Burmeister, the organization started as a grassroots effort to support Milwaukee's homeless population.
